20 Jul Fruit Papyrus

There are many cute little shops in Marais and since we are not first time touring in Paris, we rather spend more time in street strolling and window shopping!

I can’t simply express how much I love Marais in words.

We are so amazed by the shops carrying huge variety of fine stationery and papers, one of them is Calligrane.

It’s funny that both of us spot the fruit papers and ask each other “should we get it?” at the same time. It’s no brainer that we decide to get this absolutely sophisticated fruit/vegatable papyrus.

You must hold the piece of thin paper up to see the texture and fibers. Pictures cannot do the justice.

The only challenge is we have to decide on choosing our one and only piece to bring back home. We both decide the fine paper can be framed as artwork but we are not so sure which one should we get so it took us like 15 mintures to choose our favorite one – the star fruit.

We have many favorites, we both love melon, strawberries, orange etc. Seriously if I’m not in the middle of doing our home remodel and if I can frame them up right away,  I would get them all and each one would look stunning regardless.

This handmade paper is made with cross sections of thinly sliced fruits/vegetables in Germany and it’s naturally dried without any chemicals, every piece is bespoke and no two piece will ever look the same.
