03 Sep London: Millennium
I didn’t count how many bridges are there across Thames River but the two most well known ones must be Tower Bridge and Millennium Bridge.
The one and only long span pedestrian bridge in London the connects from Tate Modern to St. Paul Cathedral. It gives an unobstructed view of London overlooking Thames River. You can see it’s quite busy during day time. I would recommend you to go around sunset time when the bridge is illuminated with blade of lights. Norman Foster (yes you bet) is the creator behind the project, other landmarks you may recognize from Foster are the Gherkin, HSBC headquarters in Hong Kong and Jameson House here in Vancouver.
We had to rush to our late lunch reservation, otherwise we should go right up to the Mall behind the Cathedral, there’s a view deck you can enjoy a nice view of the St. Paul Cathedral. Yes, the best thing is it’s free!
