25 Apr Germany | Modern Guide to Munich

Thank you so much for scrolling all the way to the bottom to read this. We have taken lots of pictures in Munich and amazed by all the contemporary buildings and facades.

I’m sure you can find tons of interesting places that suit your preference from travel books and blogs, my focus here is to list the modern looking locations that worth your visit and a post on your Instagram.

Mira Mall about 15mins subway ride from central Munich. It looks pretty much the same kind of shopping centre we normally have in North America, except this one got that gigantic colourful facade for you to snap a few nice shots.

Marienplatz Train Station – main train stop in the heart of the city and while you are busy looking at your map and figuring which exit you should take, check out the futuristic looking U bahn platform. Almost like you are in Sci-Fi movie set.

Herzog – cool looking bar and restaurant designed by Swiss architect – Build Inc.  Sets inside a post war Modernist building with details of brass, concrete and Terrazzo flooring. The design is also nominated for the German Design Award 2017.

NS-Dokumentationszentrum – The all white building is sleek and intriguing. Makes it a huge juxtapose to the exhibition of documenting the darkest age of mankind – the rise of Nazi. It’s museum and exhibition centre for Munich’s history of national socialism.

Other locations worth checking out:

Pinakothek der Moderne – Modern Art Museum

Brandhorst Museum – Modern Art Museum

BMW Welt – BMW showroom & museum

KPMG – Sculptural spiral staircase at the entrance of an office building
