30 Mar Spring

20150330-flowers0120150330-flowers05My days are getting rough lately and these blooms cheer me a little. These fresh cut flowers are straight from my backyard. You don’t need to splurge on fresh flowers sometimes, check out what’s in your surroundings and you may find even more surprises. Magnolias and Tulips are in season and this simple arrangement embraces the beauty and delicacy of the florals.

Materials
1. 1 stem of Tulip
2. Couple stems of fillers
3. 1 small branch of Magnolia
4. 3 vases in different height

*Substitute with seasonal flowers.
*Try arrange florals in different shapes and sizes.
*Porcelain vases are from local designer Heyday Design.

Instructions

1. Arrange the blooms in different height and direction. As I don’t use many flowers here, I like to make each of them looks distinct and stands out. The Magnolias are shown upside down to reveal the beautiful leaves and branches. You can always be creative and do whichever way you prefer. The key for me is when I’m limited with resources, I can still make them look decent.  So as my rough days, I’m going to live and shine my way through the dark.
