20 Jun Wear | Stripes on Stripes

I’m not a fan of fancy prints and complicated design, pin stripes work perfect for my simple aesthetics and add more fun to my wardrobe full of solid colours. Pin stripes work well with black pants or denim but this time I go for a full on stripes on stripes look. The key is to mix with variety of stripes otherwise we are going to look like the Hamburglar from MacDonald’s. The two looks I’m currently wear are a mix of different stripes

First Look I style with off shoulder navy top with shorts. The colour block vertical stripes are very sharp but they help to elongate my body shape. Instead to go with a safe choice like black trousers, I choose to wear dark navy shorts to create a “romper” look. You can dress up with heels for girls’ night or dress down with flats to run errands.

Second look I wear the same pair of shorts but go with a light blue boyfriend shirt instead. It looks more casual than the first one but I like it feels effortless and gives more dimension with layers of blue. For me I definitely like playing with vertical and horizontal stripes with different widths to create interesting looks, outfits turn out to be more unexpected.

But if you concern of mixing patterns, continuous silhouette of vertical stripes would work for almost all body types. So how do you feel about stripes on stripes? Leave me a comment below and tell me which look you like better too!
