The Ritz-Carlton

Millenia Singapore

The Ritz-Carlton hands down is my favorite hotel in Singapore. From the moment we stepped inside the hotel to the ride taking us back to the airport, everything is perfect and beyond our expectations. It's a truly luxurious experience! We were staying there at the beginning of December before the holiday season but the hotel is a lot busier than I expected. The lobby was always full of tourists and locals from morning to late night. No wonder why because the hotel has set up some of the most popular Christmas decorations in town.

You could also see museum-quality contemporary art and sculptures throughout the hotel, like this hanging Cornucopia art sculpture suspended from the expansive chromafusion glass ceiling in the main lobby.

The check-in process was done in our room, smooth and easy! But I was totally distracted by my Birthday surprise the Ritz-Carlton team threw me! The moment when I got into the room, I knew I saved the best for last.

Club Premier Suite

This is the most gorgeous suite that we stayed for the last 2 nights in Singapore. The hotel is built 120 ft above ground so every room has a view. The suite has large windows and a captivating 180-degree view of cityscape and Marina Bay. The 775sf corner suite has a separate living and work area that we spent a lot of time just sitting on the couch and admiring the view at night, especially during the night show at Marina Bay Sands. We could also see the glittering Gardens by the Bay and Merlion a little further away. The bedroom also got the stunning Marina Bay View through the iconic octagonal window. Because this is a corner suite, we have been able to see Singapore Flyer from the bathroom, which is another feature in the suite. The bathroom design is also voted as one of the "World's most sexiest bathroom" by Tatler Cunard Guide.

The architecture has incorporated oriental and Feng Shui elements to bring good luck and fortune. The signature octagonal windows are not just for decoration use, they resemble the Chinese eight-diagram mirror and symbolism turning bad energy away.

The suite for sure was classy and luxurious, but it's the little touches made it extraordinary. There's a card placed right on the bed that we could leave a note to the housekeeping team for anything we need like bringing more pillows, blankets and other amenities.

Location

The hotel is very centrally-located that we could easily get to many attractions like Gardens by the Bay with a 10-15 mins ride. We could take a leisure walk to Marina Bay Sands and Art Science in 10-15mins. It's also only about 25mins away from Changi airport. I couldn't imagine any location better than this area, it's convenient for first timers like us to explore the main attractions in Singapore with a short commute. And even if we didn't feel like going out, we could just chill out in the pool area and enjoy the club benefits at the lounge.

Club Lounge

Club privileges are one of the primary reasons why I like to stay with Ritz Carlton. I have been spoiled by the Club Lounge benefits in Hong Kong, which leads me to have high expectations for Singapore. Similar to the lounge in Hong Kong, Club guests can enjoy complimentary dining from breakfast to desserts, club car transportation, and personal concierge service etc. The Club Lounge opens from 6:30am - 11:30pm.There were times when we were back very late after a long day of photoshoot and no restaurants around were open. We were so glad to grab some wine and snacks from the lounge. The breakfast and lunch selections were not big but everything we tried was adequate to satisfy our taste buds. My favourite was the laksa noodle soup, it's so delicious!

Service

Impressive! Just remind you this is a huge hotel with over 600 guest rooms and it’s busy all the time. All the staff we met were not only friendly and attentive, but they also went beyond and made their very best to make sure our stay pleasant. When the Club limousine was not available to take us to Gardens by the Bay, the concierge immediately arranged a Mercedes taxi to make sure we would be able to catch the light show on time. The concierge also came to get us from breakfast when the car arrived to take us to the airport.

The housekeeping team paid so much attention to details. I appreciate that I could just write down whatever I need like extra pillows on a card before heading out and everything would be ready by the time I came back.

The luxury hotels are very competitive in Singapore and with more new hotels entering the market, The Ritz-Carlton still outstands with its glamourous and classy style, top-notch service and amazing view to offer. We haven't had a chance to try the Michelin starred restaurant Summer Pavilion and free flow champagne brunch but we know we have reasons to come back and stay with The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore again in the future.
