27 Jun Oahu: Blue Atoll

I would suggest you to take the scenic drive and stop by as many beaches as you can – Sandy Beach, Lanikai Beach…etc.  My most favourite one is Waimanalo Bay – miles of velvety white sands, turquoise blue water and relatively way less crowds than rest of the beaches. You won’t get disturbed by others and each will get to take a little slice of beach heaven. Take a deep breath of salty air and let the warm ocean breeze swept through the hair….life’s good and I couldn’t ask for more.

If you are into snorkelling and marine life, don’t miss out the spectacular destination along East coast – Hanauma Bay . You may be intimidated by the admission fee and  limited parking, but Hawaiians are spending tremendous effort to preserve the wild life and limit visits to minimize impact to the living coral reefs.  With respecting a few rules, you’ll get to swim in one of the most desirable snorkelling waters, and if you are lucky enough you’ll get to observe the lovely sea turtles. You’ll get much more chance to spot little sea creatures in the morning, so plan your visit early and road trip along East side in the afternoon.

I have been to Honolulu twice & Bahamas once. Didn’t realize Oahu have such a stunning view. I would prefer to visit Bahamas again if not seeing your picture. Maybe I have to change my to go list. HAHA!!

Yes!! I agree 100% with you. Parts of Honolulu are extremely touristy and nothing special. We have to drive further away to find the secret little spots around the island to get away from the crowds. Hawaii is still very beautiful and I suggest you can go to Kauai or Big Island.
