31 Jan Chic Hotels in Paris
If I have time off and don’t know where to go, Paris is probably where I would just pack up and go without any planning. The city is always so vibrant that I never get tired of it. This is our 3rd time in Paris and we had almost no plan this time, just chilled and walked around to soak in the Parisian vibe. It’s so chilled we spent much more time in the hotels instead. So let’s start review the two hotels we have stayed this time. Strategically I have picked one hotel in left bank and one in right bank that tends to give a switch of vibe and experience.
The first hotel we stayed was Hotel Therese – 4 star boutique hotel located nearby Palais Royal. If this is your first time coming to Paris, this neighbourhood will be perfect for you. It’s 10mins walk to Louvre and all the tourist attractions are within walking distance. Love shopping? Galeries Lafayette is only 15 mins away. I tend to like staying in the 1st and 2ndarrondissement the most, so central that can get you everywhere easily. It’s also located within a Japanese/Korean neighbourhood that we could grab a bowl of comfort noodle soup in the cold winter. Trust me when you have too much French food, you will be craving something warm and hearty.
The hotel was tucked on a quiet street but easy enough to find even with our big luggage. The lobby lounge area was spacious with lots of seating. We were staying at their largest executive suite on the 3rd floor. We were amazed by how big the space was, it even got a walk in closet which is my favourite part of the suite. Interiors and furnishings were chic and cozy, the colour palette as soft and comfortable. Bathroom was huge, and I appreciate the rain shower head and water pressure was strong enough. It gave me a homey feel of staying at an apartment while fully equipped with boutique hotel hospitalities. This was the largest room we ever stayed in Paris! There’s no walk out balcony, but we could still open the wide windows and sit on the ledge to enjoy a cup of espresso and the street view.
Plenty of work space and seating area in our room makes my life easier as I had to edit my photos during our stay. Breakfast was awesome with great selection. Croissants could be better but other than that everything else like scrambled egg and bacon were fresh and delicious. Reception also told us they offer complimentary afternoon tea from 4-6pm everyday in the lounge, I think that’s a pretty nice touch. We came back the first day to check out the afternoon tea but found the selection was limited. But that’s okay because Pierre Herme is so close by that my hubby picked up some goodies right away and brought back to enjoy in the lounge. The staff were also very friendly and would help us with almost everything. We checked in rather early in morning due to our flight but our room was ready for us so we could freshen up right away. Overall we had such a pleasant stay and would definitely return again.
Le Narcisse Blanc
Next hotel we stayed was Le Narcisse Blanc Hotel & Spa, a 5 star boutique hotel on the left bank. It’s been opened for 2 years only so everything looks pristine and just like brand new. No doubt the hotel design looks amazing and especially love the rosy blush palette. The finishes like the wallpaper, the fabrics and the fixtures are meticulously high end . The interiors from entrance, lobby, patio, to our room just looked spectacular and luxurious. The bed and linen were very comfortable and the sweetest touch was evening turndown service. They put Angelina’s chocolates and a bottle of Evian water on the bedside table. The room size was decent but not very roomy especially the bathroom. I appreciate the double sinks but the countertop space was too small for me to put my toiletries on. Other than that, almost everything in the room was perfect. The common area like the patio and dining area was so chic and for blush pink lovers like me, this place was my heaven! As much I love breakfast in bed always, I actually enjoyed having breakfast at the dining room and they could customize the eggs whatever way I wanted!
They recently reopen the spa and pool in the basement, so I went to the steam room for 2 nights straight and enjoyed the facilities very much.
The glowing pool was not big but since it’s brand new we got to have it all to ourselves, and there’s a nice decent size Jacuzzi at the back also. After a long day of sightseeing, it’s such a nice way to unwind and relax by the pool. We didn’t get a chance to try out the spa and gym room but that just give us reasons to come back again.
Location wise it’s quite close to Eiffel Tower, also walkable distance to this pretty instagrammable spot on L’Universite Ave. Also there are many cafes, restaurants and unique boutiques nearby. If you want to be living like a Parisian, I would suggest staying at this hotel. The vibe of left bank is very different from right bank, much more low profile and less touristy but at the same time you much more feel like blending in with the locals. My favourite department store La Bon Marche and La Grande Epicerie de Paris are also located on left bank and just telling you these are locals’ favourite places to shop also!
This is a place for the boutique hotel junkies who appreciate attention to details and want to take all that authentic Parisian vibe in.
