19 Apr Latte Art Workshop

If you are into latte art and coffee, I highly recommend this workshop to spend an evening with your friend or significant other.  Latte Art Workshop is very popular in Asia and many coffee places tend to offer to customers. In Vancouver, latte art learning seems to be niched and limited to barista training. It’s not quite accessible unless you are ready to be a barista.

I found this cozy coffee shop – Moving Coffee, running by a lovely couple Edmund and Shirley. It’s a weekend pop up coffee shop that they share the same location with another coffee shop which runs on weekdays. Very interesting business model!

This is such a hidden gem place that tucked in the back alley of a business building close to Granville Island. The coffee place is much smaller than I thought but it’s so private and cozy, very relax just like in a friend’s home. You know sometimes you just wish to keep this kind of hidden gem place to yourself….

Edmund is very knowledgeable in everything about coffee and very patient to show us how to do free pour latte art. For a 2 hour workshop, it took me at least 5 attempts to make a heart pattern (barely!) and in total you get about 10 tries. Of course you can also taste test the latte you make even though I much prefer the one that Edmund created for us.

Next time I’ll bring my hubby to try their hand pour over coffee with their own sourced and roasted coffee beans.
