09 Jul Travel | Four Seasons Whistler
This past week before Canada Day William and I spent a staycation at Four Seasons Whistler. Now as we are building our place, we lose the luxury to travel far away. Mini getaway like this.. just chilling out by the pool, having smokey barbecue and bottomless sangria will be just as good.
The lobby and surrounding of the hotel are quite cozy, lots of warm cedar wood details like how you would imagine from a Whistler lodge but just more refined. Now onto the room, the Deluxe King room was very spacious, got a nice gas fireplace and a decent size of round dining table for work or room service! The bathroom was very spacious – a huge shower, tub, double sinks and L’Occitane toiletries. Our room also got a small balcony, which is a nice place to chill out. But I would suggest to get the room with mountain view for more privacy.
The main highlight of our stay was the Courtyard BeerBQ (craft beer + barbecue) in their in-house restaurant – Sidecut. Simply heaven for food and beer lovers. You pay the ticket $34 per person and get to try a huge varieties of unlimited grilled meat, seafood, sides and veggies. It’s by far the most refined barbeque we have ever had, totally raised the bar!! Every week they partner with different local breweries and we got to try some delicious blueberry beer from Howe Sound!! Hands down my favourite fruit beer and now I’m going to search every single BC liquor store to stock some bottles. I wish we could try all the dishes but I mean how could we not save room for made to order ice cream sandwiches and s’mores. The overall dining experience was delightful with plenty of food choices (even for vegetarians) on a great outdoor patio and live music. I highly recommend if you are staying in Whistler on a Thursday night, definitely come to feast on the delicious one of a kind barbecue.
To end our evening, we simply sat by the hot tub with a glass of Sangria to call it a night! Oh right, it sounds we did only lounging and eating but it only matters as if we get fully recharged right?
What’s your favourite way to get recharged? Or if you can’t travel far, would you like to have a staycation instead?
